A divorce case partitioning real property in Louisiana, U.S.A.
Dear Professor Zimmerman:
Further to our telephone conversation on July 3, 2004, I am writing to follow up on
behalf of my client Zhang Feifei. As an associate attorney with the law firm of
Zhang, Wang & Lee, L.L.P., I have been assisting Mrs. Zhang with a potential lawsuit
she may have against her husband, a permanent resident in Louisiana but still a
citizen of the People’s Republic of China.
Believing that you are an authority on the community property law of Louisiana, I
hope that you would agree to serve as a foreign law expert to me and to the People’s
Court. As you know, the Chinese Court will apply Louisiana law in partitioning any
real property the couple may have in Louisiana. If you could respond to my request
within one week by email, I would appreciate it very much.
