被动语态
在英语中,但说话者多动作的承受者比多动作的执行者更为关心时,或当人不知道动作的执行者是谁时,或当他认为没有必要指出是谁时,就会使用被动语态。
[例题]
1.He was almost hurt when the bus came to a sudden stop.
(当公共汽车突然刹车时,他差点受伤。)
2.The reason for all the changes being made has not been explained to us yet.
(做出这些变化的理由还没对我们解释呢!)
3.To understand the situation completely requires more thought than has been given thus far.
(要想彻底地了解局势需要更多的考虑,而不是象目前这样。)
4.Emphasis is laid on the necessity that all the objectives to be attained be taken into account before starting a new project.
(先对一项新工程要达到的目标进行认真考虑,然后再开始,强调这一点是很重要的。)
5.The idea that learning is a lifelong process has been expressed by philosophers and educationalists throughout the centuries.
(多少世纪以来哲学家和教育家一直强调学习是人终生过程的这一看法。)
6.The decision was postponed.
(这个决定被推迟了。)
7.They are looked down upon[看不起] by me.
(我瞧不起他们。)
[解析]当我们不知道动作的逻辑主语是“谁”时,或当我们没有必要指出动作的逻辑主语时,常常使用被动语态。在我们强调动作的承受者时,我们常常用by引导出动作的发出者。 |
